A bit about us...

SAVVY Oral Solutions is a small and dynamic company of dentists, marketing and IT experts based between Italy and the UK, who invent design or just divulge "savvy" and alternative ideas within the field of dentistry. Our aim is the simplification of big and small problems, which every dental practitioner, specifically orthodontists, may encounter in their every-day practice, with clever solutions. We provide solutions, for those who wish to follow new and exciting paths. SAVVY as a concept was born in 2010 by a family of dentists who wished to share the good ideas they have created following thirty years of hands on experience within the field of orthodontics.

In 2010 the company presented its prototype Columbus springs at the 9th European Society of Lingual Orthodontics (ESLO) annual meeting held in London. As a bronze sponsor at the congress, Savvy received positive feedback from both international leaders of lingual orthodontics and numerous academics. At the event, Dr Paola Chiaramonte impressed the delegates by presenting the result of years of use of the segmented technique with double arch both in lingual and traditional treatments, for the first time. Her practice-based research demonstrated that torque and intrusion of teeth in the front sextant was predictably and quickly achievable with the combined and simultaneous contributions of the arch flexibility and the spring adaptability, which are central to the concept of the Columbus springs.

Subsequently at the 2012 ESLO meeting in Frankfurt, Dr A. Recchia, Dr P. Chiaramonte and Dr M. Recchia presented a poster with further developments of the idea of Columbus springs gaining consensus from the delegates in attendance.

In 2013 SAVVY Oral Solutions was present at the Italian society of orthodontics (SIDO) with its CE certified line of Columbus springs and courses in mirror-less photography in orthodontics and dentistry.

Since then, Savvy has always been ready and happy to embrace new challenges and expand it's field of interest...following new paths.

Columbus spring has recently been approved by the CE committee and is protected by an international patent.
